I am so gullible… 7 minutes & I’m hooked! Will be watching for new episodes!
Recommended by a friend.
Intrigued and ready to go.
Thank you!
Truly a wonderful beginning. Very much looking forward to new episodes. Thanks very much for engaging in this ministry.
I think it speaks to our out-of-joint age. It seems that the falcon has deserted the falconer in so many ways.
I wonder where this is going? I will be watching the rest to find out. And I am letting others now about this series.
Wow!!! I loved it…..congratulations…
Puzzled, but excited to see where this goes. Tell a friend
Oooh. Interesting.
Intrigued and looking forward to wherever this is going–and really appreciated the reflections!
Intriguing. I look forward to watching the story unfold. I will tell others about this. Thank you for and may God continue to bless you in your ministry.
I am intrigued as well. I enjoyed the reflections and have recommended this to my adult faith group. Thank you and God bless your work!
terrific…..cant wait for the next one……but why so short, frustrating not to have more!!! Very good, thank you
Now I am curious and will be back for more.
Wow! I can’t wait till episode 3. So far this series is well shot, and well produced. Steven King’s “The Stand” comes to mind.
Very good, leaves you wanting more……..that could be the whole point of 40,what do you think?
I just found this….congratulations to the Jesuits and Loyola Press….will recommend it to my daughter’s high school religion class….daily episodes…brilliant…use of media…JPII would be very proud of you!
Don’t miss the film clip from “Judgment at Nuremberg” in today’s supporting refection material. It is great!
I’m hooked
Thank you!!!
Don’t you HATE cliff hangers?!?!?
I’m impressed with the quality and thoughtfulness of this series to date and encourage the Loyola Press to continue to invest in this medium for reaching today’s faithful. I also find the Reflections support pieces are excellent. The web site says these episodes can be downloaded but I can find no way to do so. Can someone direct me on that? I would like to show it to my religious education class.
Very thought provoking. This is the type of series that our young adults will look into and pass along. Now how can we get the message out to them that its here. I pray you will do other series especially Advent.
Can you drop the link? I cant’t seem to find it. “Judgment at Nuremberg”

This is truly an amazing piece of work…Last night I put my headphones on and watched all six episodes aired so far….I didn’t want it to end….thought provoking, and an original spiritual accompaniment for this year’s Lenten season….Keep them coming! God bless you for this inspired accomplishment and I hope that there are more productions such as this in the works.
I’m hooked too! A gift! Thank you! Clips are just the tip of the iceberg.
Explore (underneath) the REFLECTIONS -plethora of art forms-impacting mind, heart, soul… promotes extreme Lent!
Just watched ep. 7 The Prophet’s Reward….found it so intense and thought provoking….I’m still shaken…..can’t wait for the next episode….again thank you for helping us live and experience this lenten season through the characters in ’40′…this is indeed a novel yet powerful way to deepen our faith and better understand what these ’40′ days are really all about….God bless!
Hello 40, the New testament Class is watching this series. we find it very interesting and look forweard to each new episode. We are still trying to figure out the implications of 40 and are making guesses as to what will be coming next. The reflections also have been insightful and helpful.
Go 40
Hello 40 and Aunt Dot, we are findin this series most interenting but are still confused about the plot. We’re going to think of some new endings, we particularly fans of Aunt Dot. #teamauntdot
From the 8th hour class
Hey! I got the t-shirt and videos I won in the mail today! The posters will go to our youth group and I am so wearing that t-shirt everyday I can! I want people to ask me about it….and I will be such an expert on Jesuits when I finish watching the stack of videos! Whoa! I love it ..The Jesuits and and India; The Jesuits and The Death Penalty, The Jesuits and Francis Xavier…..are you jealous yet?? Thanks guys! and for the nice enclosed note from Michael Kaczmarek!
Well done, and kudos. I’m impressed, and look forward to following.
Ok, now I am caught up…played with the portals for a little while…very cool, like peeling away layers of something…….and now there is only one episode left…are you kidding me???? Will there be one for Advent? I hope so. Oh and one other thing….I grew up with Holy Names nuns and Benedictine monks…..I think I was a Jesuit all along and just didn’t know it! Funny how that works…
Just finished watching the last episode…so moving…..WOW! I’m still shaken. When Charlotte “confesses” to the group about her mark…boy, it just brought tears to my eyes. I just felt like I have been (and still am sometimes) in her shoes so many times, afraid to face the truth about my humanity and frailties. The answer to what is “40″ all about…life, the longing….that longing for Christ within us, of the capacity to live our lives, this beautiful gift God has given us to the fullest. That cleansing rain at the end, the Water of life that is Christ, that water that takes away our sins, that gives a us a chance time and again to convert, to be reborn in Him. All I can say is THANK you to the producers, directors, actors, writers, and everyone involved in this amazing project. You have given us a marvelous and thought provoking tool to experience Lent this year . I hope there are more projects like this in the future. May you all have a blessed Holy Week.

Just finished watching the last episode….WOW! I’m still shaken….charlotte’s moving speech about her mark brought tears to my eyes. I guess I’ve been – (and to a certain extent, I still am) in her shoes…afraid to “confess”, to come to terms with my humanity, my frailties. Awesome. The groups response to her, and to what 40 is about: life, the longing…the longing for Christ in our lives, that beautiful gift God has given us, the lives we are meant to live to the fullest, in love, in peace, in justice, in service to others…and that cleansing rain at the end was marvelous! That Water of life that is Christ, who washes away our sins and gives us time and again a new chance to convert, to be reborn in Him and with Him walk the path of love, light and truth. I just want to thank everyone involved for this amazing Lenten experience. I hope there will be more projects like “40″….it has certainly made me delve deeper into Lent and look at it from a completely different perspective. I’m sorry for the long message but this episode has stirred many feeling within….again thank you! May you all have a blessed Holy Week.
My husband and I loved the entire series. We looked at a lot of the reflections. We thought that they were all helpful on our own Lenten journeys. We had great anticipation for each episode and sometimes watched them more than once.
We had good discussions about the characters and their situations. We kept wondering what would happen next. We never knew what to expect.
We liked how artistically the project was presented. It was beautiful, scary, and humorous at different junctures. The character of Gus and his artistic vision was particularly interesting. The music was great, too. Everyone, from the writers, the producers, the director, and the actors did an outstanding job.
We wish that you could have had a larger audience. We certainly spread the word among our friends.
Well done!
Thank you so much for this work. I loved the series. Especially the last episode – Jan Broberg’s acting left me in tears. Late in the series I discovered the reflections and am very grateful for them.
Please do more.
A suggestion: help those of us who are poor at remembering names by showing not just the faces of the actors, but also their role names and their actual names.
Again, thank you so very much.
I found this series to be very powerful and thought provoking. I watched some episodes 2 or 3 times, and today I watched them all in sequence. I did not have a group to share this experience with, and am really sorry about that. As I look at the cast and review the story, I find today, that I am Rebecca and was actually relieved that she (I) got to go along in the final episode. I will be reflecting on this series for a long time. Thank you so much, and please do this again.
Extremely thought-provoking! Deep imagination. Life in a nutshell … a perpetual waiting, a looking-forward to, a journey in advent, in expectation, and yes! A longing. Thank you for this. It stirs people up. What now will I do with my life?
It is Easter evening. My company is gone and the house is quiet. I suffer from clinical depression and I watched every episode several times..Whenever there was a new one, I watched the old ones and added it. I just watched the last one….it is the longing, it is the hope for another life, it is the waiting for a life of Alleluia’s. My soul has been empty like the tomb…He has been there all along waiting for me to recognize him. Good Friday I went by myself to the only Jesuit parish I could find. I know it isn’t about Jesuit, it is about Catholic,, it is about God. But there is something drawing me to this spirituality. I don’t ever want my suffering to be in vain. What struck me is how they left everything material behind. When one has a longing strong enough, it is easy to leave those things behind. I see what could be, I hope for what will be and I too long for Him. Well done, good and faithful servants of God. Well done. Please leave this up for a long time….it will continue to have impact for lots of people and you never know whose life you might save.
A profound deep thank you for all who created this Lenten allegory. It was a shot of hope for Catholic media, for keeping current with social media and its participants. The Reflections were important , helpful and impacting. Again I thank you for this effort. Please continue to create in new ways, so we can bring the kingdom to more than those in the pews.

Re-watching the series this year (with a group). I love it even more and find an even deeper resonance in its companionship and vessel-ship (new word!) through Lent. Thank you again to Fr Breault (and congratulations on your new service in the Jesuit Vocations Office!!) and all the cast and crew.
Just watched #9 & #10 episodes. Realized I’d had a dream last night! In synchrony with Able’s compelling call in his dream to “just go!” Don’t worry about the destination or the outcome. Vaya con Dios! Then the terrific #10 episode about remembering what we’ve lost or stumbling onto the gap of what we lost or never had. The place that only Christ can heal for us; if we’ll leave our prison and follow Him.
Thank you so much! Blessings to you all & beannachtai go leor for Pope Francis!
Jst found this on Youtube and it awesome
